Meet Dr. Ify

Principal Radiologist at CWIC – Calgary Women’s Imaging Centre (CDC)

Hi, I’m Dr. Ify McKerlie, a Radiologist with over 22 years of experience, specializing in breast imaging and passionate about empowering women through education and care. I completed my medical training at the University of Saskatchewan and my Radiology residency at McGill University.

I’m deeply committed to educating and inspiring women to take charge of their breast health and advocate for themselves. 1 in 8 women in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Whether it’s through my podcast, social media platforms (@drifywomenshealth), or the videos I create, I aim to share knowledge that can make a real difference.  Together, we can prioritize breast health and empower ourselves and others to live healthier, informed lives.

Patients often ask me:

• Am I too young for breast cancer?
• When should I start screening?
• What does dense breast mean?
• What happens during a biopsy?
